How We Got Here
Back in the first lockdown in early 2020 my family were struggling to get birthday cards in the shops. They were either shielding or nervous to leave the house and supermarkets didn’t always provide that special card they were looking for.
That was where I stepped in. I wanted to help my family bring joy and send love to those they could not physically go and see and if I could make that one little thing easier for them , one less thing to worry about , then it had to be a good thing , right? .
So I started making bespoke cards for my family and close friends . They were so well received they suggested I start up a small local business. Being a self employed actress , like a lot of those employed in the arts , I was struggling for work and financial support ,so hey what had I to loose.
I was nervous to share my designs , but with the love and support of my family and friends I found I loved the whole process. I loved helping people create something unique , something that meant as much to them as it would hopefully do to the person receiving the card .
I loved hearing the stories that were behind the specific requests and seeing them come to life and so ‘Made by Lara with Love “ was born.
My hope is to branch out a bit further afield , create more designs and help spread a little more joy, laughter and love
After all couldn't we all do with just a little extra sprinkle of love, a little something to show that someone somewhere is thinking of us. Someone who cares enough about us to send something that really has been created with them specifically in mind , something made with love ..
